A robotic arm for use in extremely cold environments, The Cold Operable Lunar Deployable Arm (COLDArm) is a collaborative effort between NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Motiv.
NASA’s plans to explore extreme environments include the surface of comets, asteroids and the moon, where temperatures can swing drastically. That’s why Motiv is developing robotic controllers that can handle temperature swings from -180°C up to +100°C.
