“Robots integral to exploration of Mars” – Motiv Interviewed on Good Day Chicago
If you’re a fan of Good Day Chicago, you may have caught Motiv’s VP of Business Development, Tom McCarthy, being interviewed by Fox 32’s meteorologist, Mike Caplan.
Tom and Mike discussed the robotic arm on the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover, scheduled to land on February 18th. The arm, which was developed by Motiv in partnership with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL), is capable of not only operating in the harsh environment of Mars but also of lifting something as heavy as the average bag of concrete.
The interview touched on how the rover and its robotic arm could be critical in helping scientists to discover water deposits on Mars, and the role of Motiv’s robotic systems in NASA’s Artemis mission that seeks to return astronauts to the Moon by 2024.
