Quality Mechanical Inspector
The Hardware Quality Engineer will be the quality assurance point-of-contact for the Motiv programs assigned and play a critical role in supporting the design and build of our electro-mechanical products by supporting the documentation and development of project activities, performing inspections and providing quality assurance verification/validation support.

All applicants must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15, 8 USC 1101(a)(20), and 8 USC 1324b(a)(3). Work Schedule: Standard 40-hour work week; some overtime may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspection of Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical piece part components
Source inspection at supplier’s facilities (as required)
Providing detailed in-process inspections using detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.
Ensuring company policies and procedures are complied with for the receiving and storage of materials
Documenting production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required
Supporting Motiv’s Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedure documentation, assessing compliance to company and industry standards, and initiating and leading continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting the Material Review Board (MRB) process by documenting and managing non-conformances
Read, interpret and work from free-form drawings, as well as from controlled documentation and processes
Expertise in interpreting GD&T symbols and their intent and then selecting the correct inspection technique and equipment
Expertise with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Techniques and associated software (PC-DMIS)
Independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
Have excellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
Use a computer to record work performed on electronic work instructions and use email (MS Outlook)
Think creatively and independently while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standards

Education, Experience, and Training
Education and/or experience consisting of a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum 5 years CMM experience, and five to ten years of aerospace quality control inspection experience
Experience with performing testing and inspection using portable measuring devices.
Practical experience with GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gages
In-depth CMM experience w/ PC-DMIS Software
Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS office
Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow:
Mechanical assemblies: mechanical drawings and parts lists
Schematics, engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts list
Cable harnesses: wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and parts lists
