The Electronics Engineer will collaborate with other team members and/or customers in a team on projects designing, integrating and testing electronics and software for space flight, ground-based motion control and robotics systems undertaken at Motiv Space Systems, Inc.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Electronics Engineer:
works as part of a diverse team that will involve multiple internal and external organizations.
is involved in projects from the initial bidding phase through final delivery and interfaces with the customer on a regular basis.
Roles may include:
Electrical design, schematic capture, board layout, BOM preparation, prototype development and debugging
Analysis (controls, electrical, derating)
Test procedure/tool development
Electronics hardware assembly
Electronics hardware integration
Electronics hardware and software testing
Preparing and presenting status and design review packages for internal and external customers
Participating in integrated product teams
Essential Job Functions/Core Competencies
Design, integration and test of space flight and ground electronics systems primarily for motion control and robotics applications. Specific experience desired could include:
Working knowledge and experience with the basics of motor control and its underlying physics. Capable of modeling motion control system.
Working knowledge of analog, digital or mixed-signal design principles including designs using operational amplifiers, filters and transistors
Experience designing switching power supplies and/or motor controllers
Experience in analog to digital and digital to analog converters, power supply components and design, analog testing/troubleshooting techniques and signal integrity, layout and grounding principles
Work on bid and proposal teams
Collaboration with other engineers and/or organizations
Support and implement hardware testing
Excellent communication skills
Able to develop “blank sheet of paper” design concepts
Demonstration of team leadership and ability to foster a team environment
Hands-on hardware experience

Education, Experience, and Training
Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering
Must have at least 2 years (preferably 5 years) of experience designing board level electronics for embedded and/or motion control systems.
Design experience in one or more of the following areas is required:
Digital, analog and power electronics
Design experience or education in the following areas is desirable:
Wire harness/cable assembles
Printed wiring board design and flex circuit cabling design
Experience developing and documenting electronics designs using the following tools:
Electronics CAD tools (Altium, Orcad or equivalent)
Circuit simulation tools (LTspice, TINA or equivalent)
Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Experience with basic electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DVM, power supplies, spectrum analyzer and logic analyzers)
Excellent writing, documentation and presentation skills
