Job Description

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for the development and integrity of the Master Schedule for all Motiv projects and ensure that all activities, events, and milestones are logically linked and aligned to the project milestones and deliveries. They will support the analysis of trend data and present and prepare program metrics for review. They will ensure contractual and program baseline control management is adopted and support the team with the generation and analysis of project performance data by performing analysis such as critical path, schedule risk analysis, and Earned Value Management Metrics as required.

Work Schedule: Standard 40-hour work week (some overtime may be required)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Scheduler will:

  • be responsible for the development and integrity of the Master Schedule for all Motiv projects
  • ensure that all activities, events, and milestones are logically linked and aligned to the project milestones and deliveries
  • support the analysis of trend data and present and prepare program metrics for review
  • ensure contractual and program baseline control management is adopted
  • support the team with the generation and analysis of project performance data by performing analyses such as critical path, schedule risk analysis, and Earned Value Management Metrics as required
  • support the development of Program Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS) to ensure effective cost and schedule reporting
  • support the Program Risk & Opportunity Management Process with risk identification, documentation, and risk analysis, including the tracking of mitigation and capture plans within the IMS as required
  • develop and maintain Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for multiple major and minor projects
  • use critical-path-method (CPM) scheduling techniques in MS Project to show linkages and relationships between tasks/activities
  • integrate schedule to work breakdown structure adding additional detail lines needed to facilitate accurate monthly progress reporting
  • develop and maintain the logic, activities, milestones, coding structures, and resource loading as required to provide fully integrated IMS project schedules
  • assist engineering by maintaining overall project and contractor baseline schedules and schedule updates
  • perform Earned Value Management reporting as necessary based on project requirement

Essential Job Functions/Core Competencies

  • Experience working in a Project Management environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Project EPM 2010/13/16 and other Microsoft Office applications (Excel. Word, PowerPoint)
  • Practical or theoretical Knowledge of IMS and EVM integration
  • Ability to support and guide Project Managers and Project Engineers and their teams’ ability to multi-task, with good written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the business
  • Ability to work with diverse project teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to support, guide, and influence project teams to ensure programs are set up in accordance with standard practices and processes
  • Commercial and Business awareness in a complex project environment

Education, Experience, and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience and education) in Engineering, Business Management, or other related discipline
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience creating and managing IMS MS Project schedules
  • Knowledgeable regarding risk management and EVMS analysis
  • Must be able to self-lead and communicate effectively to all levels of a project team, including management
  • Subject Matter Expert level of knowledge for MS Project
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
